First impression:
👀 The pad eyes are through hole welded and the raised surface helps keep and corrosion away from the weld surface. There are four points for screws, all counter sunk. I tested the magnetic field in the stainless steel and the shackles on the pad-eyes are work hardened to an extent.
👀 Carabiners are pretty standard with a 7mm throat on the gate. I’ve used these exact ones before and they work well. Just watch your fingers where the gate hooks into the carabiner nose. It is spring loaded.
Contents:
⭐ In the box you get 6 x pad eyes plates.
⭐ 6 x carabiners.
⭐ 26 x screws and wall plugs.
Pros:
✔️ Strong construction.
✔️ Stainless steel.
Cons:
❌You may need more parts for applications such as supporting a tree or running trellis wire. I think that this kit is more a parts add-on to other kits that contain wires and turnbuckles.
Conclusion:
✅ I will be using these mounted to larger metal plates for snap connections for my awning, where the carabiners make very quick connections to my guy ropes. I’ve done this before with such pad eyes and the application works well so that I can leave the connections pegged into the ground in suitable positions so that the awning can be erected quickly. I can attest to the corrosion resistance of the metal. Recommended.
Solid and easy to install. Needed to add tie down rings to the back of our Ford Explorer. Just needed an electric drill/screwdriver and the screws to anchor.
The product was perfect for our cable railing staircase.
